£2k grant helped me fix up my own computer firm

Andrew O'Brien , 29 enters the first week of his computer business OB's computers supported by a grant from the Prince's trust.

NORTH Lincolnshire is bouncing back from recession with the help of a range of specialist organisations.

The Scunthorpe Telegraph's Forging our Future campaign aims to raise the profile of Scunthorpe and North Lincolnshire and encourage people to spend time and money locally.

This includes making residents and businesses aware of the help available to them.

Specialist workers, organisations and charities are available for assistance across the region, as well as a number of financial solutions for people still feeling the effects of the recession.

Andrew O'Brien, 29, turned to charity for a business grant after returning to the UK from Australia and finding himself unable to land a job.

This week Andrew opened new computer store OB's PCs in Midland Road, Scunthorpe after securing a £2,000 grant from the Prince's Trust.

He said: "It was hard work getting the grant but it has enabled me to get things up and running and more importantly doing something I really love.

"It's all down to me now, and it will take a lot of hard work, but I think this is a really good time to be starting a new business in this area.

"With us just coming out of recession and a new government in place, I think there has never been a better time for people to start the businesses which can hopefully help them and the local area."
